Bourbon not for you? Don't worry, we have non-Bourbon options as well.

The Classic Bourbon Hot Toddy

Whether you're fighting a cold or wanting to warm up after being outside all day, you can't go wrong with a classic Hot Toddy.

The Gin Hot Toddy

The Gin Hot Toddy may be less popular, but it's one of our favorites. When Gin is warmed up its floral notes shine, making this Hot Toddy variation bright and light while still warming you up the way you'd expect the cocktail to.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Theory Gin 001

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1 cup hot water

  • Juice from one orange (about 1 Tbsp)

  • Garnish with a lemon, cinnamon stick, and/or or 2-3 cloves

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients into a hot water-friendly mug

  2. Garnish with a lemon, cinnamon stick, and/or or 2-3 cloves

The Rum Hot Toddy

Bourbon and Whiskey aren't for everyone, and if you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side, try a Rum Hot Toddy. This variation is warm and comforting. The cloves and cinnamon stick add nostalgic flavors that will enhance your feeling of coziness as you sip.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces Rum

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1 tsp hot water

  • 1 lemon slice

  • 4 whole cloves

  • 6 ounces boiling water (or enough to fill)

  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Put honey into your mug and dissolve with 1 tsp of hot water

  2. Add Rum, cloves, and lemon slice

  3. Fill mug with boiling water

  4. Garnish with a cinnamon stick

The Warm Old-Fashioned

If you love the typical Old-Fashioned, try warming it up. The hot water makes flavors open up and melt together.

Ingredients

  • 1 sugar cube

  • 3 dashes bitters

  • 1 tsp water

  • 2 oz Bourbon

  • 2 oz hot water

  • Garnish with an orange peel

Instructions

  1. Muddle the sugar cube and bitters with one bar spoon of water at the bottom of a hot water-friendly mug

  2. Add Bourbon and hot water, and stir

  3. Express the oil of an orange peel over the mug and drop it in

The Hot Apple Toddy

Prefer something a little sweeter? The Hot Apple Toddy is a traditional Hot Toddy, but it replaces hot water with hot apple cider.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Sierra Bourbon

  • 5 ounces hot apple cider

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • Garnish with a lemon wedge

Instructions

  1. Heat Apple Cider on stove until hot. This replaces boiling water in a typical Hot Toddy

  2. Add Bourbon and honey to your mug. Add hot Apple Cider

  3. Garnish with a lemon wedge
